Romance Fading From Your Relationship? Tips For Married Couples

Do you feel as though the spark has disappeared from your relationship? Are you looking for ways to get it back? Well, the truth of the matter is that no matter how in love you are, or how committed you are, it takes effort to keep things fresh. Here are a few ways to spice up that relationship:

Have a date night

Set aside some time every so often and take your spouse out on a date. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, as long as you’re together. If you’re on a very tight budget, use your imagination and come up with unique, inexpensive dates. If you have kids, try to make an arrangement whereby you each take turns babysitting the other couple’s children.

Add some spice to your lovemaking

With everything else going on in your life, it’s sometimes easy to ignore romance in the bedroom. This is where you’re going to have to make a decent effort. If you feel the passion has faded a little, try talking about your desires and turn-ons – this is a great way to start. You could also get great ideas from a good book on lovemaking.

Are you behaving badly?

Isn’t it funny that the more comfortable and familiar we are with someone, the more likely we are to leave our manners at the door, take them for granted, criticize them, and treat them poorly. Of course this isn’t intentional and you still love them to bits, but do they know that? Perhaps it’s time to take a good hard look at how you’ve been treating your mate lately. Most times, all it takes is a little more compassion and caring to really make a difference.

Have a real, down to earth, conversation

Of course you communicate during the day, but when was the last time you really had a stimulating conversation? A major contributor to intimacy is how you communicate with each other. Small talk only goes so far. So if the height of your conversation is talking about your day or asking what’s for dinner, then maybe you need to try connecting on a deeper level.

Give more of yourself

You don’t want to end up in a situation where each partner feels taken advantage of and resents not getting enough back from the other person. Sociological studies have shown that the more each partner puts into the relationship, the more they get out of it. Often, it’s just a matter of being the bigger person and making the first move. Show your partner unconditional love and you’ll be surprised at how it sets off a cycle of giving freely to each other that is hard to stop.

If you feel as though your relationship has lost its zest, it’s time to do something about it. Don’t allow boredom and apathy to get the best of you.
